Offset the Impact of Audiology
Optical care often aligns with the delivery of Auditory care; many Practices offer both Optical and Audiology services, either through the practice business managing both, or through hire or collaboration with a Locum Audiologist.
Carbon Neutral Audiology, as a sub-section of a practice’s overall carbon footprint, follows similar methodology to the practice’s carbon accounts but is limited to only activities directly relevant to, or necessary for, Audiology services. Therefore, an Audiologist or Practice can ensure that Audiology services are explicitly Carbon Neutral, even if the whole Practice is not (ie. Hasn’t yet achieved Net Zero Carbon certification) – and this can be initiated by the resident or visiting Audiologist, or by the Practice.
The carbon accounting process described herein is based entirely on the GHG Protocol’s Corporate, Scope 2 and Scope 3 Standards, with added clarity in certain areas to specifically include factors such as patient travel, and thereby present the most respected international standard accessibly for the delivery of audiology within the optical industry.
This standard is designed to be used by Optical Practices and Locum agents working/operating within Practices. Applicants eligible for this Carbon Neutral Audiology certification include but are not limited to:
Optical Practices
Locum Audiologists
