Make Your Impact on the Planet a Better One.
The importance of reducing our collective consumption of Earth's resources, and the subsequent emission of greenhosue gasses and inevitable plastic pollution, cannot be understated. However, we also recognise that even with the best of efforts some impacts will remain. That's where offsetting - or "balancing" - comes in.
Because when reductions opportunities simply aren't available to you, you're able to take meaningful against the climate crisis by investing in verified climate action projects... and the ones we support go well beyond just mitigating carbon.
We Choose To Build A Truly Sustainable World.
There are an abundance of respectable carbon-offsetting programmes out there, but we've chosen to funnel all of our carbon offsetting through Gold Standard accredited projects. We love the Gold Standard projects, because they provide the means to offset unavoidable carbon emissions in a relatively short time frame, AND they also contribute to the creation of truly sustainable societies aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
So all carbon offsetting undertaken by Net Zero Eyecare doesn't just negate carbon footprints, it helps build the kind of world that we want and need to live in!
And our plastic offsetting also contributes to establishing infrastructures that actively combat the sources plastic pollution - not just mopping up the effects!
Carbon Offsetting
We're proud to use Gold Standard accredited projects for our carbon offsetting.
We've calculated the average carbon footprint of a UK optical practice to be about 60tCO2e a year - even when operating at zero Scope 1 & 2 emissions!
You can start supporting climate action programmes now using the link below - these are the same schemes supported by our certificate holders, but you don't have to wait to get one of our certifications to contribute to these important and impactful projects!
Plastic Offsetting
We're proud to partner with CleanHub for our plastic offsetting.
